REFERRALS

REFERRALS, FEES, & REBATES

Self Referral

You can access psychology services without a GP referral. This means you will not be eligible for assistance from Medicare but may be able to claim a rebate if you have appropriate private health coverage.

GP Referral

When your GP provides a referral, they complete a mental health assessment and create a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP). To ensure you can claim your Medicare rebate, please ensure you bring your referral to your first session or request the GP fax a copy prior to your first session.

FEES & REBATES

If you have a valid MHTP, you are eligible for up to 10 rebated psychology sessions in a calendar year. If required, you may also be eligible for an additional 10 sessions as part of the government's response to COVID-19. You can find more information here.

All too often, financial difficulties can be a barrier to seeking psychological help. Rachel believes in improving accessibility to services and offers a concession rate to health care holders.

Get in touch to discuss your fee requirements. Evening and weekend appointments may incur a surcharge.

NOTE: Medicare requires the full session fee be charged at the time of the appointment. Medicare will deposit your rebate into your designated bank account, which could take up to 1-2 days.

CANCELLATION: Life happens and plans change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours/1 business day's notice by phone, text, or email or a late cancellation fee may apply.
