REFERRALS, FEES, & REBATES

Self Referral

You can access psychology services without a GP referral. This means you will not be eligible for assistance from Medicare but may be able to claim a rebate if you have appropriate private health coverage.

GP Referral

When your GP provides a referral, they complete an assessment and create a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP). To ensure you can claim your Medicare rebate, please bring your referral to your first session or request your GP send a copy prior to your first session by fax or through Medical Objects. Your GP will often be the first point of call for other funding options as well, including WorkCover and DVA.
